Hi Laxmi,
I have the setting as below in preferences in Sp6(with no patches) launchpad , Q environment and I am able to get the sort bar after performing a search on LOV and once some values are listed for my search on webi report with BICS. I am clicking on refresh button on webi report in Reading mode.
Try to set similar settings and see if you still have the issue
