Your observation seems logical but i do not think there is any corelation between a Scheduling Agreement and a Source List. Consider this, a source list is a list of vendors for a particular material. You can enter more than one vendor for a material within a single source list. But can you create a SA for more than one vendor? Another thing is that a source list has its out validity start and end period. I dont believe there is any relation of this period with the corresponding dates of a SA.
Also, as per my understanding, there is no relation where a source list gets created automatically once a SA is created. I too didnt find any supporting documentation for your explanation. May be it is a coincidence where someone might have updated the SA and the same source list at the same time.
